Perfection is not what you can provide to yourself or others.
Perfection is not what you will get in life.
All my youth went on with aches and pains and trouble in learning and reading, but I made it because I could realign my postural difficulties and give time to conceptualizing before rote learning.
I have been rewarded by God with social problems, but I also possess a mind that can concentrate and generate not-so-perfect yet valuable ideas, work, and lateral thinking, which create a significant difference in every workplace where I have been employed.
There were enormous troubles, but through the writings of many spiritual and self-help experts, I have turned down all miseries and re-established a round-the-clock routine.
It will not get me anywhere towards name and fame, nor fetch me a substantial fortune; at most I can achieve inner peace and prosperity, maybe some amount of acceptance among my people.
The following quote is what brought me to this state of mind:
Make your own Bible. Select and collect all the words and sentences that, in all your readings, have been to you like the blast of a trumpet.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
I began my journey towards success in 2016 after completing my education. I added on to my certificates by studying extra while continuing the jobs that I could manage after struggling hard to make it.
I wouldn’t elaborate on my story, but I would suggest something to my readers.
Read self-help. It is not only an American cult. You must understand your feelings, desires, and level of motivation and reflect for at least 15 minutes about where you are in life.
Very critically analyze if you are up to the mark with respect to your true analysis of yourself.
You should also reflect upon a self-help passage and try to converge it into your life. You cannot have perfect alignment, but as life continues, you should too, adjusting and anticipating betterment in all spheres of your life. If you cannot achieve something, do not regret it; instead, continue to take actions that align with your capabilities. Sometimes others do not allow you—wait, someone would.
I was elated and impressed today while conversing with a colleague who has started planning her tasks according to a timetable. I see a new and innocent change and enthusiasm in her behavior just because she got a direction in life through her own motivation to make it. It has given her new hope. I bless her because such charm is rare, and very few people experience it.
Who does not want to excel? Who thinks that they are incapable?
Everyone wants to taste success for as long as they want.
Those who fail must realize that they don’t have to succeed on their first try.
You need to build a legacy. Perhaps the focus should be on personal development rather than attracting followers. You need not be the apple of the eye nor exceptionally talented. All you have to do is put in sincere efforts and approximately realign; for people like me, I do it often.
Do not form rigid impressions about people, situations, friends, or something more political like religion. You just have to approximately get by. It will never be accurate, as there are always flaws if you are performing and people are spectators. If you put yourself in a dark room and shut your eyes, then of course you get by perfectly because no one is there to judge you or criticize you.
Sometimes people watch you in awe and wish they were where you are, but they do not know the confidence and courage behind your success.
You could have reached a mental hospital for the rest of your life because you couldn’t cope with your miseries. This, of course, is an extreme situation. Nowadays no one is an asset to others. Folks are all multi-talented. The difference that you make in your niche is not because you are exceptional among others. The difference is that you are growing; you are an asset to yourself. Only you matter. Others will approximately realign like you do for them.
Be considerate. If you are starting to hate a person, just stop for a moment and understand them. They are like you, who want to succeed too. You need not give up for them; neither would they if you exchanged places. All you can do is take up a different route.
I had an opportunity a few years ago to make it in medical education. I could have done wonders, but I chose environmental and occupational health instead after completing my master’s in community medicine. I am not perfectly aligned to these subjects, but I have produced my work on Environmental Cardiology—A Community Medicine Perspective. I thought it would be appreciated, but no one took notice. So this is experience speaking: a book not written by anyone at that time in my entire country was not even looked at but treated with contempt.
There are other bloggers who shared their similar agony within their circumstances, and they resonate with me. Some have suffered way more than me, or similarly to me. Therefore, now I don’t try to even consider marketing my work enormously because people look at other people’s work with contempt and not appreciation.
Take the longer way full of hard work; you will be punished unnecessarily, but it hardly matters. You may not read my work, and it isn’t some sort of negative publicity that I intend to do here; I really mean it. But become habitual of going through the work that others have put up. I have bought many books written by authors in my field. One must read what your congeners are contributing towards your expertise. Make time for it during the long hours that you waste doing nothing; get an ebook if you do not like hard copies. As it is, you peek into the mobile every other minute. Read each other’s work and try to imbibe some points for your behavior change or information for your academic work.
If you read carefully, you can disagree, then dare to write to the author or message them through any platform and discuss. You can collaborate, do research, fund a project together, and so on.
Approximately realign and get by, and for that you should have a mentality to collaborate and try for collective success. You first build yourself, then your tribe, and finally your nation, and then globalize. If this is what you want or something smaller in its span, you should keep realigning, and you will make fewer mistakes.
My lesson for those who want to get by in life, probably successfully:
Check often your thoughts, emotions, and actions. Correct them according to your personal culture, something that makes you feel happy and not anybody else. Be accountable to yourself.
